I threw out hate and bad memories,(Remember how I treasured them so)? </p> <p>Got me a <strong>NEW PHILOSOPHY</strong> too, threw out the one from long ago Brought in some new books too, called <strong>I CAN, I WILL, and I MUST. </strong></p> <p>Threw out I might, I think and I ought. WOW, you should have seen the dust. </p> <p>I ran across an <strong>OLD FRIEND,</strong> I hadn't talked to in a while. </p> <p>His name is <strong>GOD the Father,</strong> and I really like His style. He helped me to do some cleaning and added some things Himself.</p> <p>Like <strong>PRAYER, HOPE, FAITH and LOVE,</strong> Yes... I placed them right on the shelf. I picked up this special thing and placed it at the front door. </p> <p><strong>I FOUND IT-</strong> it's called <strong>PEACE</strong>. Nothing gets me down any more. </p> <p>Yes, I've got my house looking nice. Looks good around the place. For things like Worry and Trouble there just isn't any space. </p> <p>It's good to do a little house cleaning, Get rid of the things on the shelf. Is God trying to get your attention?</p> <p>2. God uses problems to INSPECT you. People are like tea bags......if you want to know what's inside them, you just drop them into hot water. Has God tested your faith with a problem? What do your problems reveal about you?</p> <p>3. God uses problems to CORRECT you. Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It's likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a hot stove. But you probably learned by being burned. Sometimes we only learn the value of something........Health, money, a relationship........ by losing it.</p> <p>4. God uses problems to PROTECT you. A problem can be a Blessing in disguise if it prevents you from being harmed by something more serious. Last year a friend was fired for refusing to do something unethical that his boss had asked him to do. You say, "If I get more, I'll give more." No, you've got it back to front. Jesus said, "Give and it will be given to you… the measure you use… will be measured to you" (Luke 6:38 NIV). The level of your giving determines the level of your receiving. So break through your barriers of fear and put God to the test, He won't disappoint you. (2) We get back more than we give. Paul writes, "Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will… increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness" (2 Corinthians 9:10 NIV). Notice, some of the seed [money] God gives us is for food (our own needs), and some is for "a harvest of righteousness". What does that mean? Paul explains: "He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor; His righteousness endures forever" (2 Corinthians 9:9 NIV). To be truly righteous we must show compassion toward the hurting and give generously to those who are unable to provide for themselves. The Bible says that when we give to the poor, we lend to the Lord and He will repay us (Proverbs 19:17). Imagine the interest God pays! Jesus describes it as: "Good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over" (Luke 6:38 NIV). You gave your life for me and made everything new. Job lamented, "I give up; I am tired of living. Leave me alone. My life makes no sense" (Job 7:16 GNT). A doctor found out that he could predict which of his cancer patients were most likely to survive by asking, "Do you want to live to be 100?" Those with a deep sense of purpose who answered "yes", were the ones who would live.</p> <p>Having a steadfast purpose simplifies life. It defines what you do and what you don't do. It becomes the standard you use to evaluate which activities are essential and which aren't. Without purpose you've no real foundation on which to base your decisions, allocate your time and use your resources. You tend to make choices based on circumstances, pressures, and your mood at that moment. When you don't know your purpose you try to do too much, and that causes stress and conflict. It's impossible to do everything people want you to do; you have just enough time to do God's will. If you can't get it all done, you're trying to do more than God intended.</p> <p>A steadfast purpose makes your lifestyle simpler and your schedule saner. As time went on she became<br> a faithful member of the church.<br> She eventually became involved in the ministry,<br> teaching young children.<br> It was not very long until this faithful young woman<br> had caught the eye and heart of the pastor's son.<br> The relationship grew and they began to make wedding plans.<br> This is when the problems began.<br> You see, about one half of the church did not think that a woman<br> with a past such as hers was suitable for a pastor's son.<br> The church began to argue and fight about the matter.<br> So they decided to have a meeting.<br> As the people made their arguments and tensions increased,<br> the meeting was getting completely out of hand.<br> The young woman became very upset about all the things<br> being brought up about her past.<br> As she began to cry the pastor's son stood to speak.<br> He could not bear the pain it was causing his wife to be.<br> He began to speak and his statement was this:<br> "My fiancee's past is not what is on trial here.<br> What you are questioning is the ability of the blood of Jesus<br> to wash away sin.<br> Today you have put the blood of Jesus on trial.<br> So, does it wash away sin or not?"<br> The whole church began to weep as they realized that they had been slandering the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.<br> Too often, even as Christians, we bring up the past<br> and use it as a weapon against our brothers and sisters.<br> Forgiveness is a very foundational part of the Gospel<br> of our Lord Jesus Christ.<br> If the blood of Jesus does not cleanse the other person completely<br> then it cannot cleanse us completely.<br> If that is the case, then we are all in a lot of trouble.<br> What can wash away my sins?<br> Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
